Report: Liverpool make contact as impressive player eyes Anfield transfer | OneFootball

Liverpool have reportedly made contact with Red Bull Salzburg over how much it would cost to sign Patson Daka this summer, with the player apparently wanting a move to Anfield.

The attacker has had a stellar couple of seasons with Salzburg over in Austria and scored a whopping 34 goals last season for them, with that naturally catching the eye of several top European clubs.

According to Football Insider, too, the Reds are particularly keen with them claiming that Liverpool have made contact to ask how much it would cost to sign the player this summer, with them quoted a fee of £17m.

Indeed, the report also states that the player is very keen to join Liverpool this summer, with other players at the club having similar Red Bull backgrounds such as Sadio Mane, Naby Keita and Takumi Minamino.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

£17m for a player that scored 30 odd goals last season seems good value but, of course, you do have to consider that was in the Austrian league.

Even so, he is a bright player and Liverpool need another attacker to add to their ranks, particularly with speculation over Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri right now.

Could Daka be the man to arrive, then? We shall see.
