In what could be one of the summer’s most intriguing transfer tussles, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing a substantial offer for Eintracht Frankfurt’s striker Omar Marmoush. This development, as reported by TeamTalk, places Spurs in direct competition with Liverpool, who also have their sights set on the Egyptian forward.
Marmoush’s journey in German football, traversing through various clubs, culminated in a pivotal free-transfer move to Eintracht Frankfurt. Scepticism initially surrounded his ability to replace the outgoing Randal Kolo Muani. However, Marmoush defied expectations, impressively contributing 15 goals and six assists in all competitions this season, establishing himself as a prime target for top Premier League clubs.

Michael Edwards, recently reinstated as Liverpool’s CEO of Football, has reportedly advocated for Marmoush’s acquisition. The player’s form has undoubtedly made him a viable candidate to bolster Liverpool’s attacking options, potentially marking him as Edwards’ first major signing in his new role at Anfield.
While Liverpool show interest, Tottenham, under manager Ange Postecoglou, seem to have taken a more proactive stance. Having bid farewell to Harry Kane last summer, Spurs have tried to fill the void left by their talisman with the likes of Son Heung-min, Brennan Johnson, and Timo Werner. Yet, there remains a palpable need for a central striking figure, a role Marmoush could aptly fill.
Spurs are expected to table an initial offer in the region of €30m, significantly lower than Frankfurt’s valuation of the player, which stands between €50m to €60m. Notably, Frankfurt appears open to the sale, especially considering any transfer fee would be pure profit.
Marmoush, inspired by the likes of Mo Salah, has expressed aspirations to play in the Premier League. His agent, Michael Reschke, has highlighted Marmoush’s distinctive style and significant market appeal, suggesting that offers from across Europe are anticipated.

As the transfer window looms, the battle for Marmoush’s signature could become one of the summer’s most compelling narratives. His proven goal-scoring ability and evident desire for a Premier League challenge make him a sought-after asset. Tottenham’s need for a central striker and Liverpool’s ambition to rejuvenate their forward line sets the stage for a potentially intense transfer duel.
