Inter Milan have reportedly cooled their interest in Parma defender Giovanni Leoni, as their pursuit of Ademola Lookman takes priority.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
For the last several weeks, Inter have been heavily linked with Parma defender Giovanni Leoni.
Reportedly, the 19-year-old is the player the Nerazzurri see as ideal for the long-term future of their defense.
Furthermore, the fact that Leoni had worked with coach Cristian Chivu last season has further bumped him up Inter’s list of targets.
However, the price tag for Leoni would be quite high. Reportedly, Parma are holding out for as much as €40 million to sell the teenage defender.

In the meantime, however, Inter have also been working to sign Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman.
And it’s clear that the Nerazzurri are going all-in on signing the Nigerian.
Inter have already had a €40 million bid rejected by Atalanta. But that has not deterred them. They will soon increase their offer by a few million euros.
Wrapping up a deal for Lookman quickly is Inter’s priority.
And this has caused the Nerazzurri to put their pursuit of Leoni on the backburner. It would be difficult to commit to a deal for the 19-year-old financially after signing Lookman.
That does not mean, however, that Inter will not sign a defender this summer.
On the contrary, the Gazzetta report, Inter are eyeing up a deal for Genoa’s Koni De Winter.
