Despite an already proactive summer transfer window, Arsenal remain firmly on the front foot in the market. As reported by CaughtOffside via journalist and Gunners expert Charles Watts, the North London club “are looking” at three more attacking options: Real Madrid’s Rodrygo Goes, Crystal Palace talisman Eberechi Eze, and Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon.
With four key additions already secured—Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga—the Gunners are clearly not content to stand still. The club are also “on the verge” of securing a deal for Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres.
According to Watts, Arsenal’s next move could centre around a left-sided attacker. He stated: “We know they are looking at options for that left-sided attacking role, with Eberechi Eze, Rodrygo and Anthony Gordon believed to be of interest.”

Each of the three names brings a distinct skill set: Rodrygo, with his Champions League pedigree; Eze, a silky technician who excels in tight spaces; and Gordon, whose relentless energy and directness have made him a standout at Newcastle.
What’s notable is Arsenal’s clear attempt to balance long-term project building with players who can contribute immediately. This nuanced recruitment strategy—targeting high-ceiling talents with top-flight experience—reflects Arteta’s evolution from a promising manager to an elite one.
Despite the volume of deals already done, Watts insists there may be more movement before the window slams shut.
“I do still feel like there is scope to bring in one more new addition before the window closes, however. There is still a long time left in the market and it wouldn’t shock me if Arsenal still look to do something.”
His comments hint that Arsenal are not finished fine-tuning their squad—and suggest that any of Rodrygo, Eze or Gordon could still walk through the Emirates doors.
Some have speculated that Ethan Nwaneri’s recent contract renewal may reduce the need for another attacking midfielder. But Watts downplayed that impact, saying: “Whether Nwaneri’s new deal puts a stop to that I’m not sure, but I really don’t believe it should.”
It’s a fair point—Nwaneri remains a long-term prospect. Arsenal’s interest in proven senior attackers reinforces their intent to compete now, not just in the future.
From an Arsenal fan’s perspective, this report feels both exciting and pragmatic. The idea of adding Rodrygo, Eze, or Gordon suggests Arteta wants more unpredictability and dynamism in the final third. All three players could rotate fluidly across the frontline—an essential trait for the manager’s positional play system.
Rodrygo would be a blockbuster signing, adding flair and European pedigree. His arrival would feel like a signal of intent akin to when the club brought in Ødegaard permanently. Eze, meanwhile, might be the fan-favourite pick. His ability to glide past players and unlock low blocks is something Arsenal struggled with in key games last season.
Gordon feels more divisive—his price tag and temperament split opinion, but no one can question his intensity and willingness to press from the front.
Ultimately, the fact that Arsenal are still looking—even after strengthening key areas—shows how high the bar has been set. After pushing Manchester City to the limit last season, the club seems committed to ensuring it won’t be second best again.
