Just one day after Milan’s Europa League elimination at the hands of Roma, multiple reports claim the club are ready to make a managerial switch this summer and part ways with Stefano Pioli at the end of the season.
According to calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri’s senior management have been evaluating various candidates in recent weeks, including former Real Madrid and Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui. Though, another option they’re reportedly interested in is former Roma and current Lille manager Paulo Fonseca.
The Portuguese technician’s contract with the French side expires in July, and he’s received considerable interest from other clubs, particularly in Ligue 1 . The report states Milan consider Fonseca an interesting option given the results and brand of football he’s established in his two seasons in France. In fact, they’ve even had informal talks with his agent, Marco Abreu, about potentially taking over this summer.
