For the moment, 12 clubs have agreed to join the new proposed European Super League. Among the most notable clubs that have held off on signing off for this competition is Paris Saint-Germain. A report from RMC Sport noted that PSG declined an early invitation to be among the founding clubs for this yearly closed competition.

However, the door has not been shut on PSG to possibly agree to join the new European Super League. According to a new report from the German-based Der Spiegel, PSG has been provided with a 14 day deadline to decide on whether it plans to join the new league.

Bundesliga clubs Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have also been among the early teams to turn down an invitation to the competition. But as with PSG, European Super League officials have elected to issue both German clubs a 30-day deadline for their final decision over this matter.

The new competition will begin on August every year, although it is not yet known whether play could kick-off as early as this year. For the moment, PSG, Bayern and Dortmund plan to take part in next season’s UEFA Champions League competition.
