Fiorentina have reportedly made an attempt to sign Thomas Müller as a free agent at the end of the season, only for the Bayern Munich striker to turn down their proposal.

The 35-year-old has recently become available on the market after his club announced that they would not be renewing his contract, meaning his 17-season stay at the Allianz Arena is set to come to an end.

Given his class and winning experience, Müller is expected to attract interest from many European clubs, and it seems Fiorentina moved quickly to try and secure his services.

However, while Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk confirmed that the Viola had offered Muller a move to the Stadio Artemio Franchi at the end of the season, he also added that the player is ‘not interested’ in joining the Serie A outfit.

Müller recently scored in the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Inter at the Allianz Arena, although his temporary equaliser was quickly followed by Davide Frattesi’s winner, which ultimately led to Nerazzurri’s 4-3 aggregate victory after the return leg at San Siro.
