A host of EFL sides are interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Leighton Clarkson this summer transfer window on a loan deal, with the young player looking like one of the next exciting talents set to be produced by the club.

The Reds have seen what the loan system can do for players with Harvey Elliott excelling last season at Blackburn Rovers in the Sky Bet Championship.

Indeed, there’s a chance that Clarkson could follow a similar route, with the Liverpool Echo reporting that several EFL sides are interested in doing a loan deal for the young midfielder:

Clarkson is a good player and a move to the right club this summer could be what really spurs him on to new heights as a footballer.

Of course, there’s still lots for him to learn but the Reds seem quite confident he’s going to be a really handy player as he gets that bit older and it’s all about making the right decisions now in order to get the very best out of him.

We’ll have to see where he ends up, but an exit on loan would be no bad thing at all.
