Chelsea would be willing to spend €70m on Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface as they look to sign a new striker according to reports.
The Blues pursued Victor Osimhen for most of last summer, but were unable to complete a deal, whilst they also pulled out of a move for Samu Omorodion at the last minute despite everything being agreed.
Chelsea entered the season with Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu as their centre forward options, and are now paying the price for not strengthening in January.
Jackson started the season well and scored nine league goals over the first half of the season, but a lack of an alternative has really hindered the Blues.
The 23-year-old hasn’t scored in 2025 and the Blues were rocked by the news Jackson will sidelined until April with a hamstring injury.
Back-up striker Guiu is also out injured leaving Chelsea in somewhat of a striker crisis with Christopher Nkunku the only option right now unless Enzo Maresca plays a winger as a false nine.

Jason Cundy has stated he’d like to see Pedro Neto tried down the middle and Maresca is under pressure to come up with an alternative.
A striker is believed to be a priority in the summer and Chelsea are said to be leading the race for Liam Delap, whilst there’s believed to be interest in Benjamin Sesko.
However, Fichajes have reported the Blues would be prepared to spend €70m on Boniface, who almost joined Saudi side Al Nassr in January.
The report adds Chelsea see Boniface as the ideal profile and the Blues are said to like his versatility and ability to create danger in the box.

Boniface scored 21 goals and provided ten assists as Leverkusen completed an unbeaten domestic double and lost the Europa League final last season.
The Nigerian has ten goals in all competitions this season and given he almost left in January it seems Leverkusen could be open to selling in the summer if the money is right.
