Chelsea are one of four Premier League clubs interested in signing Porto striker Samu Aghehowa this summer according to reports.
The Blues almost signed the Spain under-21 international last summer having agreed a deal with Atletico Madrid, only for everything to collapse at the last minute.
Chelsea also pursued Victor Osimhen for the majority of last summer but were unable to agree a deal with the Nigeria international.
Not signing a striker last summer and in January has proven costly as both Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu picked up injuries during the deadline day win against West Ham.
Both aren’t expected back until after the international break, meaning the Blues currently have no fit senior strikers.
Enzo Maresca has deployed Pedro Neto down the middle for the last two games as a temporary solution, with the Portugal international scoring a goal and providing two assists.

Missing out on Aghehowa has proved costly and the 20-year-old instead signed for Portuguese giants Porto, where he’s enjoying a productive season.
The striker has scored 20 goals in 32 games in all competitions and Chelsea sent scouts to watch Aghehowa in action against Sporting Lisbon last month.
His performances have reportedly attracted interest from the Premier League and Portuguese outlet A Bola have reported that Chelsea are one of four English clubs keeping an eye on the centre forward, who could be on the move again this summer.
The report adds that Arsenal, Aston Villa and West Ham are the other interested clubs, with the striker thought to have a €100m release clause.

If Chelsea do return for Aghehowa it would be slightly embarrassing if they go and pay more for a player they could have signed for less last summer.
Chelsea have other strikers on their radar and are said to be leading the race for Liam Delap, whilst RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is also of interest, although they face competition from Arsenal for the 21-year-old.
