Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Noni Madueke offers an intriguing sub-plot to what is shaping up to be another high-stakes summer in North London. As reported by Caught Offside, Spurs are considering a move for the Chelsea winger — a player who once walked their corridors at Academy level before departing for PSV Eindhoven in 2018.
Now 23, Madueke is reportedly on Tottenham’s radar as they look to bolster their attack. “Tottenham want to bring their former Academy prospect back to the club,” the report states, adding further tension to the already fiery dynamic between the two London clubs. The winger has clocked up eight goals and four assists in a Chelsea shirt this season, showing signs of the creative and clinical potential he’s long promised.
Ange Postecoglou is expected to refresh his forward line this summer, and Madueke’s versatility is key to that vision. “He is capable of operating on either flank, and he will add pace, flair and unpredictability to the side.” In essence, everything Spurs lacked in the second half of the season.
It’s noted that Madueke “could prove to be a major upgrade on Timo Werner, who will leave the club in the summer.” While the Werner experiment was always viewed as a stopgap, a player of Madueke’s profile — quick, direct, Premier League-tested — feels more in keeping with Tottenham’s desire to build sustainably and with ambition.

Persuading Madueke to return will be no straightforward matter. “The opportunity to return to his boyhood club could be quite tempting for him, and he might feel that he has unfinished business at the club.” But Spurs must present more than nostalgia. They must offer vision — of trophies, of European nights, of a player central to their next chapter.
With Aston Villa also keen, Tottenham’s pursuit hinges on more than sentiment. They will need to convince him not just with a contract, but with a purpose.
Noni Madueke’s performance data over the last 365 days, as visualised by Fbref via FBCharts, paints the picture of a dynamic and increasingly productive wide player. In 2,207 minutes of football, Madueke ranks in the 89th percentile for non-penalty xG and the 88th percentile for non-penalty goals, underlining his sharp instincts in front of goal. His xAG (expected assisted goals) sits at an impressive 85th percentile, while he contributes directly to attacks through shot-creating actions (57th percentile) — respectable numbers for a player still maturing tactically.
What elevates Madueke’s statistical profile above the average winger is his contribution to progressing the ball. He sits in the 97th percentile for progressive carries, a testament to his ability to drive at defences with speed and control. His progressive passes received (83rd percentile) and successful take-ons (72nd percentile) show he’s often found in advanced positions and trusted to take on his marker.
However, pass completion (48th percentile) and passes attempted (30th percentile) highlight an area for development — particularly in more possession-dominant systems. He is, above all, a disruptor, not yet a metronome.
Interestingly, Madueke’s defensive contributions are more notable than one might expect from a flair-driven attacker. His aerials won (78th percentile) and tackles plus interceptions (33rd percentile) suggest a player willing to engage physically. While his clearances and blocks rank lower, the intent is evident: he tracks back, he challenges, and he competes.
In a league demanding versatility, Noni Madueke is evolving into more than just a winger. His performance stats suggest he’s edging towards being a complete attacking outlet — bold in approach, unpredictable in execution, and gradually more rounded.
