Chelsea have agreed a €65m deal with Borussia Dortmund for Jamie Gittens, but he will only move after the Club World Cup according to German publication BILD.

The Blues are expected to be busy again this summer and have already completed the signing of Liam Delap, with more new faces expected to follow.

Chelsea face a critical window and are in market for a centre back, left winger and versatile forward as they look to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad ahead of the new season.

Chelsea agree €65m Jamie Gittens deal

Having signed Delap Chelsea’s main priority is getting a winger through the door, and they’ve identified Borussia Dortmund’s Gittens as their top target.

Chelsea are short in the wide areas following the departure of Jadon Sancho, although Estevao Willian will join after the Club World Cup.

Gittens has agreed terms on a seven year contract at Stamford Bridge, but the Blues are yet to reach an agreement with Dortmund after having a £42m bid rejected earlier this month.

Dortmund are holding firm on their €65m asking price, and it’s thought Chelsea have changed their stance and are now prepared to meet it.

It feels like a matter of when not if this deal gets done, and BILD have reported Chelsea have actually agreed a €65m deal for Gittens and the 20-year-old will move after the Club World Cup.

The report states add ons will be tied to easily achievable targets such as games played, and more difficult ones will be linked to winning the Champions League.

Gittens scored 12 goals for Dortmund last season, including four in the Champions League and is viewed as a great fit for Maresca’s system.

Mohammed Kudus and Joao Pedro targets

Chelsea also want a versatile forward and have been linked with Premier League duo Joao Pedro and Mohammed Kudus.

The Blues are eyeing a replacement with both Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix expected to leave the club this summer.

Newcastle are also interested in Pedro, with Brighton said to want £60m, whilst it’s believed West Ham would accept less than Kudus’ £85m release clause.
