Celtic are reportedly yet to make a formal offer for Lennon Miller. The 18-year-old impressed for Scotland in the 4-0 win over Liechtenstein, prompting Celtic fans on social media to encourage a move for the player.

A report from Record Sport suggested that Celtic were considering making move but that was followed up with a report from Mark Hendry, who revealed that there had been no bid for the midfielder.

The Motherwell star is in the final year of his contract, meaning that the Fir Park club will be encouraged to sell this summer. The clubs discussed a potential deal in January but the North Lanarkshire side held firm, likely due to not wanting to sell their star player for the second half of the campaign.

Sunderland are reportedly eager to sign the player and the newly promoted Premier League side have money to burn after selling Jobe Bellingham to Borussia Dortmund. The report earlier this afternoon suggested that £10m would be the asking price but this seems steep given the player’s contract situation. Although, the player is rightfully tipped to smash the transfer record held by David Turnbull following his 2020 move to Celtic.

Miller has star qualities and could become a first team mainstay at Celtic, working under Brendan Rodgers. The player is away to rest up ahead of a return to pre-season and you would expect that questions about his future are on hold until closer to the new campaign. You would imagine that a move would be forthcoming if Celtic lost a midfield player this summer, with Reo Hatate having been linked with an exit.
