Bouna Sarr’s time at FC Bayern is slowly but surely coming to an end. It is an open secret that the Bavrians would like to sell the Senegalese. However, he has so far refused to leave the German record champions. According to current media reports, the 29-year-old has now changed his mind.

Sarr joined FC Bayern in autumn 2020 as one of four last-minute transfers. The right-back cost eight million euros at the time. Almost 1.5 years later, the Munich club has to admit that the right-back is a transfer flop. Sarr plays no role at the FCB, neither under Hansi Flick, nor under Julian Nagelsmann could the defender attract attention. As “SPORT1” now reports, the club and the player will part ways in the summer at the latest.

Sarr with strong performances at the Africa Cup

According to the German TV channel, Sarr wants to leave FC Bayern. The reasons are obvious. Under Nagelsmann, the Senegalese is only third choice at the right-back position behind Benjamin Pavard and FCB talent Josip Stanisic.

The 29-year-old is currently on duty with Senegal at the Africa Cup and has attracted attention there with strong performances. According to reports, there are first loose enquiries from abroad. OSC Lille and AS Roma are said to be interested in Sarr. However, it remains to be seen whether a winter transfer will take place. Sarr would like to leave FC Bayern in the summer at the latest.

The problem: According to rumours, Sarr currently earns a salary of 2.5 million euros, which makes him too expensive for many interested clubs. In addition, he is still contractually bound to the Munich club until 2024, which means that a transfer fee is also due.
