After impressing in Euro 2020 so far with the Netherlands, Bayern Munich are interested in Denzel Dumfries but bringing him to Munich has some challenges.
According to Sky Sports reporter Marc Behrenbeck, the 25-year-old defender would fit right in with Julian Nagelsmann’s preferred 3-5-2 system.
However, with a release clause of roughly 15 million, Behrenbeck claims the price is “currently too expensive” for Bayern.
“It’s actually cheap, but FC Bayern doesn’t want to spend that much anymore,” said Behrenbeck
Yet even with the initial hurdles, the report continues to say potentially signing the player is still “on the table” for the club.
In fact, other reports from earlier this week claimed Bayern have already made contact with Dumfries ‘agent Mino Raiola.
If Bayern can find a way to turn things in their favour, Dumfries would be a huge boost to the squad in both defence and attack.
While at PSV Eindhoven, he has registered 16 goals and 20 assists in 124 appearances and has scored twice for the Netherlands so far this summer.
