As per a report relayed by SPORT, 16-year-old striker Iker Bravo has turned down Barcelona’s offer to renew with the club and has decided to leave the Catalan giants. Having recently been promoted to the Juvenil B, his loss to one of Europe’s superpowers is a big one to take.

La Masia, over the years, has been infamous, particularly in the striking department. The academy offers an abundance of midfielders, but in the striking role, few players, if any, make it all the way.

Bravo showed immense potential in the sub-categories and was touted with having a chance to be one of the few to make it to the first team.

The report states that one of the biggest reasons leading up to his departure is that he was not included in the plans for the Juvenil A, or the under 19, in their preseason squad. This has attracted the attention of some of Barcelona’s closest continental rivals.

Despite several offers being proposed to him, both from a sporting and financial standpoint, neither was truly enough to tie him down.

Two Italian clubs have shown interest thus far in him. These are former Serie A champions Juventus and 2018 Champions League semi-finalists AS Roma. In Germany, Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt have equally shown interest in Bravo.

His goal-scoring prowess was enough to attract the attention of anyone, and unless there is a sudden change of mind on his part, then his story with Barcelona has come to an end.
