As the football schedule keeps getting more challenging, teams across Europe continue to face the consequences in the form of fatigue, injuries, and an understandable lack of motivation from professional footballers. Barcelona are one of the teams that have suffered notable repurcussions recently.

The game against Bayern Munich saw Pedri and Jordi Alba pick up injuries, while Memphis Depay was suspected to have suffered a knock as well. Now, the duo is set to be out for approximiately a month.

That being said, however, Barcelona could welcome two players back from injuries very soon in the form of Ousmane Dembele and Ansu Fati.

Fati picked up a serious injury against Real Betis last year, tearing the meniscual on his knee. After being sidelined for nearly a year, the Spaniard could return as early as next week against Cadiz.

As for Dembele, the Frenchman sustained yet another hamstring injury, this time with France at the European Championship. While initially his return was set to November, there is a chance that fans can see him back in action in October itself after he returned to isolated training last week.

While Ronald Koeman’s future hangs in the balance, he desperately awaits the return of this duo. He believes that they offer what the team is missing: speed, verticality, 1v1 dribbling, and goals.
