The Premier League trophy is one of the most recognisable pieces of silverware in world football, with countless players hoisting it above their heads at the end of a successful season. Perhaps unsurprisingly, supporters of those successful sides have liked the idea of getting a replica version of the Premier League trophy for their own use, complete with ribbons that are the colour of the team that they follow.
As you might imagine, there are numerous different levels of replica trophy, costing various amounts of money depending on which one it is that you end up buying for yourself.
There are certain things that you might not know about when it comes to the Premier League trophy. For starters, did you know that there are actually two trophies that are identical to one another, including the engraved base that the champions are added to? During the season, one of the trophies stays with the English top-flight title winners, whilst the other is used by the Premier League itself. As the campaign reaches its conclusion, the defending champions must return the trophy with at least three weeks remaining before the final match of the season it played out.

The trophy itself stands at three feet and five inches in height, also being two feet wide. It comes in at four stone in weight, of which the base makes up two and a half stone. The handles have lions on them, making up two of the three lions of English football. It is the club captain that becomes the third lion when he lifts the trophy above his head in the final game of the season. The base itself is made of malachite, whilst the green colour you can see is used to represent the field of play. Winning teams are also given 40 medals made of silver, which can be distributed as the club sees fit.
If you were to look on the shop of the National Football Museum, you would see replicas of the likes of the Europa League trophy, the silverware associated with the European Championship, the European Cup of the Champions League and the FIFA Jules Rimet, which is lifted by the World Cup winners. The trophy that is conspicuous by its absence is that of the Premier League. You might well find yourself wondering whether that means that you’re not really allowed to buy such a replica trophy without heading to the black market, but you needn’t worry too much on that front.
Whilst the Premier League would obviously prefer not to have people buying copies of the trophy that they earn no money from, the police aren’t going to be turning up and kicking your door in if you buy a small trophy to sit on your desk or a larger one for a cabinet of your own. Royal Jewellers Asprey of London were the ones to create the silverware in the first place and they obviously don’t take too kindly to people making money off their creation, but there remains a healthy cottage industry out there of replica trophies that you can buy for your own collection.
When it comes to talking about the pricing of a replica Premier League trophy, the phrase ‘how long is a piece of string’ comes to mind. There are countless different sizes available, from small ones that can be used on a keyring through to full-size ones that you might end up seeing in bars and restaurants with a sport theme. Then there is the quality of the trophy in question, given the fact that more than a few of them will be tacky and cheap. If that’s the sort of thing that you’re after, then a quick look on TikTok will present you with countless options for buying one for relatively little money.
For many, the entire point of buying a replica trophy is to get one that is as good as it can possibly be, which is why people are happy spending money to get one that might easily be mistaken for the real thing if only it weren’t two-thirds of the size. If you are the sort of person that would like to get a replica of the Premier League trophy, then the first thing that you should do is work out the budget that you’re working within. From there, you can opt to spend as much or as little as you want, picking up a trophy that can look and weigh as much as the real one, or be just a fraction of the size.
