It is expected that Désiré Doué (18) will be highly coveted during the upcoming transfer window. Expecting concrete approaches, Stade Rennais have set a €40m asking price, according to a report from L’Équipe.
Doué’s contract at Rennes runs until 2026, however, he is expected to be one of the biggest attractions in the upcoming window, with many clubs in search of players of his profile. There are currently no discussions pertaining to a renewal of his current deal, and as a result, this summer could be perceived as the right time to cash in.
L’Équipe have reported that Doué will not leave Les Rennais for a fee under €40m, amid interest from around 10 clubs, including Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen, who lodged an unsuccessful bid to sign the France youth international in January. The German club’s €20m bid fell short of Rennes’ valuation. However, they could return to the table at the end of the season.
