Rennes have submitted an opening offer to Nottingham Forest for Orel Mangala (25).
As exclusively reported by Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Rennes want to bring Mangala to Roazhon Park on a six-month loan deal with a €25m obligation to buy plus add-ons, but Italian sides Napoli and Juventus remain interested.
As reported via our colleagues at Get Italian Football News, Napoli are progressing in a move for Mangala. The likelihood is that the Belgium international would join the Partenopei on a loan deal and it remains to be seen if an option to buy would be added or not, but they now have competition from Rennes, who submitted their opening offer in the last hours.
Mangala joined Nottingham Forest from Stuttgart in July 2022 for €13m and has played 49 games across all competitions. With 1,409 minutes in the Premier League this season, the Belgian international has established himself as a key player in the Forest squad.
Coming through Anderlecht’s youth system, Mangala joined Stuttgart in 2017 for €1.8m. The box-to-box midfielder spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Hamburg in the 2. Bundesliga, where he made a name for himself before returning to Stuttgart, where he played 109 games across all competitions, scoring three and creating 10.
