Out-of-favour Rennes centre-forward Bertug Yildirim (22) has been allowed to travel to Madrid to complete his move to La Liga side Getafe, according to a report from Le Parisien. The Turkey international has been pushed towards the exit door by Rennes on the back of an underwhelming debut season with Les Rouge et Noir. Yildirim only logged one goal, in the Europa League’s group stage, in 15 appearances for Stade Rennais.

To replace the departing Yildirim, Rennes signed Henrik Meister from Sarpsborg. The Danish centre-forward already matched Yildirim’s goal tally for the Bretons in scoring Rennes’ third goal against Lyon last Sunday. Yildirim was previously expected to join EFL Championship outfit Norwich City FC in a €7m move but the Canaries pulled out of the move following the player’s medical. Getafe have reportedly agreed to a €5m transfer fee with Rennes, according to Ouest-France.
