SCO Angers’ Esteban Lepaul (25) is the subject of a rejected bid from Stade Rennais, according to a report from Foot Mercato.

Lepaul carved out a spot in the line-up at Angers over the course of last season, finishing the season as the club’s top goal-scorer in Ligue 1. The Frenchman has begun this campaign well, too, netting the only goal in a 1-0 win over Paris FC on the opening day of the Ligue 1 season.

His performances have caught the eye of Rennes, according to Foot Mercato. The Breton club have even submitted a bid worth €10m, the publication understands. However, this falls considerably short of Angers’ valuation of their forward.

They value Lepaul at €25m, L’Équipe understands. This has put Rennes off pursuing a deal as they look to replace Nottingham Forest-bound Arnaud Kalimuendo. L’Équipe have also cited Sporting CP’s Conrad Harder as a potential target this summer.
