Stade Rennais’ veteran goalkeeper Steve Mandanda is a doubt to face Olympique de Marseille on Sunday evening after missing training on Saturday through illness.
Mandanda was handed the captain’s armband by new manager Julien Stéphan less than a fortnight ago, but he could be set to drop to the bench on Sunday. The Frenchman was ill on Saturday and was therefore absent from training. According to Le Parisien, Mandanda is feeling better this Sunday morning and he will travel with the group, however, if he is not fit to start, his place will be taken by Gauthier Gallon.
There are no other fresh injury concerns for Stéphan to deal with, although Guéla Doué will miss the match against Marseille through suspension. Arnaud Kalimuendo and Benjamin Bourigeaud were both taken out of the line-up in the midweek victory over Maccabi Haifa, but both look set to return at the Vélodrome.
