Despite Stade Rennais’ recent fixture congestion, Julian Stéphan is set to field a strong side against National 2 side Le Puy Foot.

Stéphan is expected to field a very different side to the one that picked up a point against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday. That fixture came just days after Les Rennais’ elimination from the UEFA Europa League at the hands of AC Milan. Key figures, notably Benjamin Bourigeaud and Martin Terrier came off the bench at the Parc des Princes, but against lower-league opposition, they are both expected to return to the starting XI.

Rennes don’t have any fresh injury concerns, however, Enzo Le Fée and Fabian Reider both remain absent with their respective injuries and neither will be involved against Le Puy.

Rennes likely lineup v Le Puy

Gauthier Gallon; Adrien Truffert, Arthur Theate, Warmed Omari, Alidu Seidu; Martin Terrier, Désiré Doué, Azor Matusiwa, Benjamin Bourigeaud; Arnaud Kalimuendo, Amine Gouiri. (L’Éq)
