Rennes interested in signing English defender Archie Brown | OneFootball

According to a report from Sacha Tavolieri, Stade Rennais are interested in signing Archie Brown (23) from KAA Gent during the summer transfer window. The English full-back is expected to leave the Jupiler Pro League club after he failed to report back for training on time.

The former England youth international was expected to return to training, but reported that he was sick. Tavolieri understands that this was a misunderstanding between Brown and the Belgian club’s management and that the issue has been resolved. However, a potential transfer still looks likely this summer. Rennes face competition from Genoa and Torino for the defender’s services.

It could be a busy summer in defence for Habib Beye’s side this summer. Lillian Brassier’s loan move has already been made permanent from Marseille. In respect of departures, the Ligue 1 club have received an offer in the region of €5m for Christopher Wooh from Trabzonspor, L’Équipe understands.
