Rennes coach Genesio confirms interest in Barcelona defender Umtiti

Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti is being encouraged to find a new club.

One of the clubs who are most interested are Rennes, who are negotiating for the French centre-back.

The coach Bruno Genesio has admitted he's interested in the Barcelona man.

“He's a player we know perfectly well," explained Genesio. “I had him during his formative years and then in Lyon's first team and that creates a link.

"You all know his story, his qualities, the setbacks he's had last year, but he's still a player with a very high level, and we are interested in players who have a high level."
