Renato Gaúcho’s Flamengo journey came to an end after four months following the 2-1 defeat in the Copa Libertadores final in Uruguay.
Just two days after the defeat, Renato Gaúcho’s resignation was announced and on Thursday, he came out with a message on social media.
“I close another cycle here. We all have dreams to be conquered and managing Flamengo was one of mine.
“I did not conquer in the way I would have liked, however, there was no lack of determination and commitment to try to come out with the achievements that we were hoping for.
“I want to thank President Landim, Marcos Braz and Bruno Spindel for the opportunity and for trusting me.
“Thank you to all the departments of the club that were very important in this journey. Thank the players and the fans that, even though it wasn’t the way we dreamed, they still had Race, Love and Passion. This is Flamengo!
“I will always follow with affection and admiration for the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo. Success to the next!”
Renato led Flamengo into battle a total of 37 times during his tenure, compiling an official record of 24 wins, nine draws, and four defeats.
