Liverpool icon Robbie Fowler believes that the Reds should pursue a move for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak this summer, comparing the Swede to Sadio Mane.
The Reds are expected to busy in the upcoming transfer market as new manager Arne Slot begins to shape the team in his image, with attacking reinforcements likely this summer.
While it appears that Mohamed Salah will be staying at Anfield next season, there have been rumours suggesting that several of the Reds' attacking stars could be on the move in the next few months.

Both Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez have been touted with exits - Barcelona having shown interest in both - meaning Liverpool would have to dip into the market to replace any outgoing attackers.
There have already been plenty of rumours linking Liverpool with exciting forwards, but Fowler has urged the Reds to consider Newcastle striker Isak.
Speaking to Crypto Casino LTD (via Liverpool Echo) about Liverpool's transfer plans, Fowler suggested that Isak would be a good fit for the Reds, helping fill the void left behind by Mane's departure in 2022.
"In the last six weeks or so, it has become evident that Liverpool need a player who can change things and make their attack more varied when it isn’t happening for them," said Fowler. "I’m not saying that [Mohammed] Kudus is that catalyst however.
"Would he make the club better? He would make the squad better, there is no doubt about that and he is an exciting player. There are two players I would genuinely like to see at the club; Ollie Watkins and Alexander Isak.
"I think Watkins has just signed a new deal, but I’ve got a lot of time for him and I think he is brilliant. Isak, for me, reminds me of Sadio Mane as well. I don’t want to put things in people’s heads, but I think he would be a good fit as well.
"There’s a bit of a Sadio Mane headache still at Liverpool and I can see a bit of Mane in Isak, in all honesty."
Liverpool haven't been linked with a move for Isak but there is no doubting that he is a player that the Reds will be keeping a close eye on should he become available. After all, Newcastle are expected to have to make sales this summer in order to comply with Financial Fair Play rules.
Isak has shown his promise in matches with Liverpool in the past, including two goals at Anfield over the last two seasons, and he finished the 2023/24 Premier League campaign with 21 goals in just 30 appearances.
The Reds have also been linked with Isak's teammate Anthony Gordon, with the former Everton man potentially costing £100m.
