Ross Barkley lived every Everton fan's dream in representing their boyhood club.
Unfortunately things soured following his January 2018 move to Chelsea but there was a time when the Wavertree-born playmaker genuinely had the world at his feet.
Like fellow Toffees' academy graduate Wayne Rooney, Barkley burst onto the scene in 2013/14 as Roberto Martínez went on to seal an impressive fifth-place finish.
He had a knack for finding the net, too, with six goals in 34 Premier League outings including this sublime solo effort in a 3-0 dismantling of Newcastle 11 years ago.
Fittingly, he did it on the former stomping ground of another of English football's last genuine mercurial talents - and one-time Everton player - Paul Gascoigne.
