Brazilian playmakers and Barcelona are a potent mix, but it doesn't always work out.
For every Ronaldinho, Rivaldo or Raphinha that lit up Camp Nou, the likes of Paulinho, Geovanni and Malcom struggled to fly the flag for their homeland.
Philippe Coutinho finds himself bracketed in the latter category after producing just 39 goals and assists in 106 appearances for the Blaugrana across four seasons.
Despite winning four honours during that time in Catalonia, including two LaLiga titles, he had arguably a greater impact against them on loan at Bayern Munich.
A player dubbed 'The Magician' upon his 2018 arrival from Liverpool scored twice in an 8-2 thrashing of his parent club in the 2020 Champions League knockouts.
But Coutinho still had some standout moments during his time in a Barça shirt.
Now 33, he most recently spent time at boyhood club Vasco da Gama on a season-long loan from Aston Villa, who signed him for a reported £17m in 2022.
