Brest has announced the departure of three players, including Massadio Haïdara. The 32-year-old left-back is now on the hunt for a new challenge.
Having joined Brest last summer from RC Lens, the Malian international (19 caps, 2 goals) was not offered a contract extension despite a solid season.
His numerous injury setbacks appear to have worked against him, even though he featured in 20 Ligue 1 matches and 8 UEFA Champions League games.
An uncertain future for Haïdara
As of this writing, the native of Trappes has not received any contract offers, leaving his footballing future shrouded in uncertainty.
After stints with Nancy (2011-2013), Newcastle (2013-2018), Lens (2018-2024), and Brest (2024-2025), the Malian Eagle is set to join the fifth club of his career—a pivotal turning point for him.
