Tijjani Reijnders has been tipped to extend his Milan contract for a while, and things haven’t changed even though it hasn’t materialized yet, as the management has been busy tending to the transfer market in recent months. The midfielder spoke about it and his growth to France Football (via Goal).

“There has been a sort of a turning point for me this season. I’m a lot more decisive than in the past. I used to rush things in the box, and I’ve worked on that. I honed in on my shooting skills with my father and my brother. We re-watched my games to analyze my behavior in front of the goal.” “I’m a lot more present on the pitch and acquired more composure. I know what to do in the final third. My self-confidence increased after the first two goals. My stats are evident, which is a positive. It means that I’m playing well. However, it doesn’t create any extra pressure. I smile every time I am on the pitch because I’m happy to be playing. I’m enjoying myself since, luckily, I haven’t had any injury so far.”

Reinders revealed his goal for the future.

“I wish to win as many trophies as possible. I became a footballer to etch my name in the history books. I hope it’ll be with Milan, with which I’ll prolong my relationship soon. Being a candidate for the Balloon d’Or is a dream of mine, as it’d say a lot. It’ll hinge on my performances and on whether I’ll be successful. It’ll be easier to pull it off If I keep working hard to be the best player I can be in every game.”
