Tijjani Reijnders is on the verge of officially becoming a new Manchester City player, following reports that he is having his medical with Pep Guardiola’s side on Sunday ahead of a €75m transfer from Milan.

Reports in Italy claim that Reijnders might be in his final day as a Milan player, as he is having his medicals with Manchester City on Sunday: ‘I couldn’t wait any longer’, the Dutchman told reporters in his homeland.

Man City have an agreement in place with Milan to pay a total fee of €75m including bonuses and add-ons. Reports claim that the ‘fixed fee’ may be as low as €55m.

Reijnders also has an agreement in place on personal terms for a five-year contract worth around €8m per season in wages, well over double the amount he has been earning on his most recent Milan contract, which was extended in March.

Reijnders confirms Man City medical: ‘I’m thrilled’

“I couldn’t wait any longer,” Reijnders said about his Manchester City medicals when asked by reporters in the Netherlands (via La Gazzetta dello Sport).

“The intention is to participate in the Club World Cup with City,” he continued.

“I’m thrilled about it. This way I get to know my teammates straight away. I will be back in Zeist on Sunday evening. Then I will prepare for Tuesday’s game (with the Netherlands) against Malta.”
