Referee announced for Manchester United’s upcoming clash against Tottenham

The Premier League has confirmed Anthony Taylor will referee this weekend’s Premier League clash between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

There has been a lot of controversy over decisions in the Premier League since the 2020-21 campaign kicked off, and Taylor will have the pressure of José Mourinho to deal with after the Tottenham manager winged over his club not being respected like ‘some’ of the bigger clubs in English football, as reported by The Sun.

Spurs, a better run Newcastle United, in the modern game. Talk the big game but no-one is convinced.

Taylor will be assisted by Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn, while Craig Pawson acts as fourth official.

Stuart Attwell and Stephen Child will be the brains behind VAR.

It is United’s first big game of the season and after already losing a game, to Crystal Palace (!), we shouldn’t be dropping more points this early on.

Obviously with Manchester City losing to Leicester City, as well as Spurs drawing to Newcastle at the weekend, there is room for error but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t want his players making habit of it.

Also – is it too much to ask for that we beat Spurs without controversy? Mourinho will always find something though.
