The Azzurri began their campaign with a remarkable comeback 3-1 victory away to France, despite conceding the opener within 14 seconds from Bradley Barcola.

They are currently joint leaders of Group A2 with Belgium, who also earned a 3-1 win over Israel on Friday.

This is a big opportunity for the Nazionale to break away at the top, seeing as Belgium face France in the other fixture.

Referee for Israel-Italy on Sep 9

The referee for Italy’s game with Israel is Ivan Kruzliak of Slovakia, assisted by Branislav Hancko, Jan Pozor and fourth official Peter Kralovic.

The VAR official is Polish, Tomasz Kwiatkowski, assisted by Michal Oceanas of Slovakia.

Kruzliak is 40 years old and this will be his second match with Italy, after a 1-0 win over Malta in September 2015, as part of the EURO 2016 qualifiers.

Including youth level and clubs, he has overseen three Italian wins, two draws and four defeats.

Israel lost both games played with his referee, 2-0 to Ukraine in August 2013 and 1-0 to Kosovo in November 2023.
