Tottenham Hotspur take on Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday and the referee appointment has been made for the clash in N17.

The Lilywhites are well within the race for a spot in the top four this season, but will face a difficult afternoon against the Seagulls on the weekend.

Who is the referee for Tottenham’s game?

Spurs will be targeting all three points on Saturday against one of their European rivals and they will do so under the watch of a first-year referee.

Holding the cards in north London will be Sam Barrott, he will have the assistance of linesmen Neil Davies and Wade Smith.

Keeping the managers separated in the dugout will be fourth official Keith Stroud. Whilst Australian Jarred Gillett will be back at Stockley Park with Richard West operating VAR.

What is Tottenham’s record under Sam Barrott?

Given Barrott is in his first year of Premier League action, naturally, Tottenham’s experience under the official is limited.

Spurs are yet to play under Barrott’s watch in the Premier League, however, he was the referee for their FA Cup third round victory over Burnley.

It proved to be a fairly quiet game which saw just one yellow card handed out to the north London side with substitute Bryan Gil having his name taken for dissent.

Regardless of who the referee is, three points feels essential for Spurs on Saturday following their draw on Merseyside last weekend.

Fourth place is only two points adrift going into the weekend, and the potential return of Heung-min Son would certainly boost our Champions League hopes.
