The domestic season may have drawn to a close, but for Liverpool’s senior squad, the summer break is anything but restful. As the dust settles on a triumphant Premier League campaign, 20 Liverpool players are now reporting for international duty – representing 13 nations across friendlies, qualifiers, and tournament fixtures.
This wave of call-ups spans across continents, with Reds heading into World Cup qualifiers, UEFA Nations League clashes, and preparatory fixtures. For Liverpool’s backroom staff, it’s a delicate balancing act: keeping an eye on fitness while players scatter across the globe.
Seventeen Liverpool players have been selected by their national teams across Europe. Among them is new arrival Jeremie Frimpong, who joins Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, and Cody Gakpo for the Netherlands’ qualifiers against Finland and Malta.
Ibrahima Konaté will be tested at the highest level when France face reigning European champions Spain in the UEFA Nations League semi-finals.
For Andy Robertson, it’s leadership duty once again as he captains Scotland in friendlies against Iceland and Liechtenstein. Meanwhile, Hungary’s Dominik Szoboszlai prepares for clashes with Sweden and Azerbaijan – matches that could also include Milos Kerkez, who is expected to complete a move to Liverpool shortly.
Ireland’s Caoimhin Kelleher, linked with a transfer to Brentford, is in line to start against Senegal and Luxembourg, while Conor Bradley suits up for Northern Ireland against Denmark and Iceland.

In England’s camp, Curtis Jones eyes an opportunity to impress newly appointed manager Thomas Tuchel during matches against Andorra and Senegal.
Diogo Jota features for Portugal in a heavyweight encounter with Germany, while Kostas Tsimikas takes on Slovakia and Bulgaria for Greece.
Youngster Lewis Koumas also joins the Welsh squad for games versus Liechtenstein and Belgium – in what could be his final Liverpool involvement before a potential summer departure.
The action isn’t confined to Europe. In South America, Liverpool’s representatives are involved in headline fixtures.
Alexis Mac Allister and Luis Díaz are set to square off as Argentina take on Colombia in a key World Cup qualifier. It’s a match-up that pits two of Liverpool’s midfield architects against each other on international soil.
Alisson Becker will guard the net for Brazil against Ecuador and Paraguay, continuing his ever-reliable presence in the Seleção.
Wataru Endo captains Japan in a pair of important qualifiers against Australia and Indonesia. The veteran midfielder remains integral to both club and country.
At youth level, Jarell Quansah, Tyler Morton, and Harvey Elliott have all been named in England’s U21 squad ahead of their European Championship opener against the Czech Republic on 12 June.
A few notable names have not been selected for international duty this time. Darwin Núñez, Mohamed Salah, Stefan Bajčetić, Joe Gomez, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Jaros, and Federico Chiesa are among those sitting out the June window.
Whether due to rest, injury, or tactical omission, their absence provides a rare breather in what is otherwise a relentless calendar.
