TalkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has tipped Manchester United to go “all out” to sign Declan Rice this summer.
Rice is enjoying another fine season at the heart of the West Ham midfield, which has led to interest from several top Premier League clubs.
According to WhoScored, only Jarrod Bowen, who’s been in incredible form of late and has 16 goal involvements for the campaign, has been performing better than Rice in the Hammers squad this term.
Rice himself has scored once and laid on four assists, but it’s his work all over the pitch that has given him a rating of 7.18 for the season, which puts him fourth in terms of top-flight midfielders – behind Mateo Kovacic, Conor Gallagher and Ilkay Gundogan.
According to the Telegraph, United face competition from Manchester City and Chelsea for Rice’s signature, with West Ham boss David Moyes pricing the midfielder at around £100m.

United have struggled in midfield for some time, with Fred and Scott McTominay failing to deliver on a consistent basis, while Paul Pogba’s contract runs out this summer. Even Roy Keane said that his former side won’t challenge for major trophies with McTominay and Fred starting regularly.
Therefore, Crook reckons that the Red Devils will do everything in their power to bring the midfielder, who’s missed just one Premier League game this season and that was due to a suspension, to Old Trafford this summer.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “I think they’re going to go all out to sign Declan Rice. And I think if you listen to Declan Rice in interviews, he’s almost paving the way for a departure.”

While United remain arguably the biggest pull in English football, going up against Manchester City and Chelsea is going to be far from easy.
Pep Guardiola has plenty of midfield options at his disposal, but City are comfortably the best side in the Premier League, and not only would they be able to improve Rice’s wages, they’re at the stage where they can almost guarantee domestic trophies.
Meanwhile, Rice started his Academy career at Chelsea and has made no secret of being a Blues supporter as a kid. In a recent interview with Gary Neville, the 23-year-old said that his childhood idol was former captain John Terry.
United are the most desperate of the three to sign a central midfielder, but if Chelsea and Man City are seriously interested in Rice, United might have their work cut out.
