Red Bull Salzburg striker set for immediate loan to Kortrijk after joining Cardiff City | OneFootball

HLN are reporting that Roko Simic is set to join Kortrijk on loan. The 20-year-old will swap Red Bull Salzburg for Cardiff City this summer but instead of playing tin the Championship, he will be sent to help out Cardiff’s sister club Kortrijk. Last season Kortrijk loaned another striker from Cardiff in Isaac Davies, who ended up leading the side in goals and helping keep them in the Pro League.

Simic, a Croatian youth international who is also eligible for Italy, spent the second half of the 2022/2023 season on loan at FC Zürich in Switzerland. In 16 games for the side he scored four goals. On his return to Austria he played 38 games last season, scoring six goals and grabbing two assists.

Kortrijk have had an indifferent start to the season, with two wins and three defeats in their opening five games. They could certainly do with a greater attacking threat after struggling to create anything during the 1-0 defeat away to Charleroi at the weekend.
