Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen is reportedly working hard to make himself available for the crucial clash against Atletico Madrid.
According to SPORT, the Danish centre-back has been taking significant steps in his recovery, participating in two full training sessions with the squad this week.
Christensen, who trained with the group twice last week, has now resumed normal training alongside his teammates on Wednesday and Thursday.
This progress comes after the squad enjoyed a two-day break granted by head coach Hansi Flick earlier in the week.
With one more training session scheduled before Barcelona host Atletico Madrid on Saturday, there is growing anticipation about whether Christensen will be declared medically fit for action.
However, it seems more likely that his return to the pitch will have to wait until 2025.

The Danish defender has endured a difficult season so far, with injuries limiting his contribution.
Christensen has only managed to feature in one match for Barcelona this campaign, playing just 26 minutes against Valencia. Shortly after, he was diagnosed with a left Achilles tendinopathy, an issue that has sidelined him for the past four months.
During his recovery, Christensen underwent minor surgical treatment to address the discomfort in his Achilles. This procedure appears to have helped, as the player is now making steady progress towards full fitness.
While the defender is eager to return, the medical team is likely to prioritise caution to avoid any setbacks.
As Barcelona prepare for their final official match of 2024, Christensen’s return would be a significant boost for the team, especially given his defensive capabilities and composure on the ball.
For now, fans will have to wait a little longer to see him back in action, but his recovery is undoubtedly a positive sign for the team heading into the new year.
