Rebic leaves with Milan squad ahead of possible return against Empoli | OneFootball

Ante Rebic has left with the rest of the AC Milan squad for the Empoli match as he could be in line for his first minutes since August 21, a report claims.

As was seen as the players filed onto the train at Milano Centrale on Saturday morning (via Milan News), the Croatian attacker was among them having recovered from the back injury that has kept him out for more than a month.

He has not been named in a matchday squad since August 27 when Milan played against Bologna. He remained on the bench during that game which means he has not played since 1-1 draw with Atalanta on August 21.

Rebic is not expected to start the game in Tuscany on Saturday evening but he could be given some minutes to help get back to match fitness depending on how the game is going.

The bad news for Stefano Pioli is that Junior Messias has not travelled due to injury.
