The 2022/23 Serie A season starts tomorrow and the Campioni d’Italia, Milan, begin their campaign with a home game against Udinese at San Siro (18:30 CEST).

Sandro Tonali and Zlatan Ibrahimović are the only players who is out with an injury for Matchday 1, and it seems that Stefano Pioli already his starting XI in mind.

In today’s session, Olivier Giroud and Divock Origi trained normally with the squad. Giroud was the pre-season top scorer but in the last few days he was having some muscle fatigue issues, while Origi only this week returned from an injury which kept him out since May, when he was still at Liverpool.

Therefore, the starting striker of Milan tomorrow, as per MN, should be Ante Rebić, assuming a role he knows well as he played there last season and in pre-season. Behind him there should be Junior Messias, Brahim Díaz and Rafael Leão. Yacine Adli and Charles De Ketelaere will wait on the bench.

No surprises are expected in the rest of the pitch either, Rade Krunić is preferred over others to take the place of Tonali alongside Ismaël Bennacer, while in defense there will be the usual Mike Maignan in goal, and Davide Calabria, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernández in front of him.

Pioli is betting on the guys who brought him the Scudetto for Matchday 1, with the new summer signings waiting to make their San Siro debut on the bench.

Probable XI (4-2-3-1) – Stefano Pioli (Milannews.it) Mike Maignan; Davide Calabria, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori, Theo Hernández; Rade Krunić, Ismaël Bennacer; Junior Messias, Brahim Díaz, Rafael Leão; Ante Rebić.
