Should or shouldn’t Steve Bruce continue in his job at Newcastle United?

Bruce himself has said he is well up for staying and taking on the challenge, especially with the arrival of the new owners.

So what direction should Newcastle United now go in?

It is a tricky one alright, so I thought I would have a look around and see what the various arguments for and against are.

Especially those saying that Steve Bruce IS the right man for the Newcastle job, despite no wins in nine games this season, only seven victories in the last thirty eight matches these past ten months.

I have found it really helpful these past 24 hours or so when looking for reasons why Steve Bruce should or shouldn’t stay in the Newcastle post, that so many folks who aren’t even Newcastle fans, are happy to volunteer their opinions.

Indeed, just try and stop them…

Nobody could do a better job with these current players because he knows them better than any replacement would.

Has managed 1,000 matches in his career.

Has got a lot of friends.

Played for Manchester United.

Has kept his dignity.

He is a Geordie.

Was a very good player for Manchester United.

He supports Newcastle United.

It is his dream job.

He is doing his best.

Has kept his dignity.

Hasn’t had any backing in the transfer market.

Is a really good bloke.

REASONS WHY STEVE BRUCE SHOULDN’T STAY ON AS NEWCASTLE BOSS

He is a really poor manager / head coach who no other Premier League club would have remotely considered employing in July 2019 and certainly wouldn’t now in October 2021, after what has happened in these past 27 months at Newcastle United.

Amazing isn’t it that the divide is pretty much absolute.

With 95% / 99% of Newcastle fans taking that latter viewpoint, whilst all those kind people who aren’t Newcastle supporters are keen to educate us with those numerous Steve Bruce positives above.

You know what, if I didn’t know any different, I would almost think that these people who aren’t Newcastle United fans, aren’t particularly bothered about seeing NUFC do well. I even for a moment considered that they might actually like to see Newcastle doing really badly! Imagine that.
