Monday saw a double dismissal in LaLiga with Real Valladolid and RCD Espanyol both parting company with their respective coaches.

Valladolid’s 6-0 defeat away to Real Madrid on Sunday leaves them just a point above the relegation places and proved to be coach José Rojo ‘Pacheta”s last match in charge.

While fellow strugglers Espanyol were beaten 2-1 by Girona on Saturday, extending their losing streak to four matches and leaving them a point behind Valladolid in 17th place.

In a bid to avoid relegation, they have sacked coach Diego Martínez after just 31 games in charge.

With 11 matches of the season remaining, Valladolid and Espanyol are fighting against relegation with Valencia, Almería, Elche, Cádiz and even Sevilla all in danger of dropping down to the Segunda División.
