Real Sociedad coach Imanol Alguacil believes they recovered their reputation after last night's 0-0 draw with Manchester United.

The result at Old Trafford sees United progress to the Europa League round of 16 on an aggregate score of 4-0.

Imanol said: "I am not happy because what we wanted was to win. We have achieved one of the objectives which was to wash the image. We played very complete once again, knowing that the tie was as it was and it is not easy to face a game like that.

"We must congratulate the players and I hope that Real fans today are proud of the image we have given. Turin was a hard hit, but surely we are not that far away."

On Mikel Oyarzabal's failure from the spot, he also said: "We were doing things very well, creating chances and playing one-on-one. Who knows what would have happened after scoring the penalty. We know that the tie was practically sentenced and there were two very clear objectives: to win and wash the image and at least one we have achieved."
