Real Madrid kept up the pace at the top of Spanish League with a 1-0 win over Alavés this Sunday.
The Merengues were forced to play more than half of the match a player down, however, after the dismissal of their French striker.
The only goal of the game, when it arrived, was spectacular: Eduardo Camavinga striking a powerful effort from outside the box past the Babazorros' goalkeeper.
Carlo Ancelotti's side were dealt a blow, however, when Mbappé saw red for a reckless tackle on Antonio Blanco. The French player initially received a yellow card, but after a VAR review, the referee reversed his original decision and showed a straight red card to the forward.
Alavés, however, then saw one of their own players dismissed after the break when Manu Sánchez received his marching orders for a challenge on Vinícius Júnior.
Madrid preserved their advantage to chalk up three more points and close the gap to the league leaders Barcelona. Next up, Los Blancos will host host Athletic Bilbao on 20 April at 20:00.
