MIAMI, Florida – The road to the FIFA 2024 Under-20 Women’s World Cup from the 2023 Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Championship in the Dominican Republic has reached a key point with just four teams remaining. The two semifinal winners and Third-Place match winner of the CWU20 will each earn a ticket to the World Cup.

One of the National Teams that has had a good start to the tournament and has reached the semifinals is Mexico. With Head Coach Ana Galindo, El Tricolor has been displaying some very good football, showing the talents from its squad in every position.

One of the most disruptive players so far in this CWU20 has been FW Tatiana Flores. The 17-year-old has been a constant presence in the starting XI of this tournament, scoring in the 4-0 Mexico victory against the hosts.

Flores’ skill has been evolving this year, as she has been growing and maturing her game since she moved to Spanish side Real Oviedo back in late 2022.

In the north side of the country, Flores is also a recurring name in the starting lineup, serving as a key piece in every game she plays in the Primera Federacion, the second division league in Spain.

Mexico's fine performance in the CWU20 has seen them deliver some great football. After defeating the Dominican Republic, they next downed Puerto Rico 4-0 in which Flores went 90 minutes to help Mexico take control of Group B.

Costa Rica was next to fall to the Mexican side, 3-0, giving Flores and her teammates the chance to play for a World Cup ticket in the semifinals against Canada on Friday.

Flores is showing once again that she is one of the generational talents that every fan of women’s football needs to follow. She leads the CWU20 in goal situations with 13 and has been one of the most prolific shooters in the tournament.

For both club and country, there is no doubt that Flores continues to make a big difference every time she takes the pitch.
