Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. has late on Sunday provided an insight into the reasoning behind his eye-catching celebrations versus Barcelona.

Vinícius, of course, is fresh off another scintillating individual display.

After Real travelled to Riyadh for a showdown with arch rivals Barcelona in the final of the Supercopa de España, the club’s talismanic wide-man put on a show, to the tune of a first-half hat-trick.

This ultimately proved decisive, en route to Los Blancos emerging on the right side of a 4-1 result.

Vinícius’ goals themselves, though, did not mark the sole reason for the Brazilian international taking his place in the headlines in Saudi Arabia.

This comes with his celebrations, too, having piqued widespread attentions.

After each of his three strikes found the net this evening, Vinícius responded by breaking out Cristiano Ronaldo’s famed ‘Siuuu’ pose.

Ronaldo, for his part, was in attendance at the clash, with ‘Viní’, as a result, having been questioned on his celebratory decisions post-match.

And the 23-year-old, as cited by Relevo, went on to reveal that his actions came in tribute to CR7, with the Real Madrid icon representing his footballing ‘idol’:

“The celebration is for Cris. He is my idol and now he is playing here [in Saudi Arabia].”
