Real Madrid’s UCL-winning captain joins the ‘Lamine Yamal praising bandwagon’ | OneFootball

Spain have worked well as a unit in the ongoing European Championships, but a large part of the limelight has fallen on the wingers and rightly so.

Nico Williams has been sensational for La Roja down the left flank and is one of Barcelona’s biggest targets for the summer. Starting on the right flank for Spain, meanwhile, is the Catalans’ very own Lamine Yamal.

At just 16 years of age, the youngster has taken the Euros by storm. He may not have a goal to show for his exploits, but it is safe to say that he is the team’s most dangerous player in the final third.

Nacho praises Yamal

Earlier today, Real Madrid legend and Spain defender Nacho Fernandez faced the media ahead of La Roja’s knockout clash against Georgia.

During his interaction, he specifically heaped praise on Barcelona’s young gem Lamine Yamal and his unreal maturity.

“Lamine is a special case. We discussed about it, when we were 16 years old we were with friends at school making jokes,” he began jovially before specifically praising the phenom, as revealed by Mundo Deportivo.

“I imagine that he will be living a dream but he has a talent and an ability that is spectacular. He’s a good boy, he’s hooked up well with the group,” he added.

In what can only be described as massive praise from the Real Madrid legend, Nacho then admitted that what Yamal produced on the field was ‘extraordinary.’

“The players are measured by what we do on the field and Lamine does things that are extraordinary. It’s a pleasure to have him with us in the national team.”

A bizarre situation

It is queer for a 16-year-old to be a regular starter at the highest level of football, but Yamal has proved time and time again why he belongs among the elite at a young age.

Rising to stardom at such a young age, however, comes with its own drawbacks.

Yamal is set to start for Spain later tonight as they take on Georgia, but it appears that the Spanish National Team could risk breaking German law by deploying him on the field beyond a certain period.

After all, his playing for his country is considered ‘child labour’ under the German legislation.

Given the new restriction, it remains to be seen how Luis de La Fuente utilises Yamal’s services.
