Arda Guler’s performances at Euro 2024 lit up the tournament and garnered attention from across the globe.

After all, it was astounding how the youngster put up such high-quality performances day in and day out despite staying out of Real Madrid’s plans last season.

His numbers at the elite event make a strong case for Carlo Ancelotti to provide him with more opportunities in the coming season. The competition, however, is ruthless and there have been talks of Guler potentially leaving on loan.

Arda Guler will not move

Of the various teams linked with the Turkish phenom’s signing, Bayer Leverkusen stand as one of the prime contenders. After all, they are the defending Bundesliga champions and one of football’s fastest-growing teams at the moment.

According to reports from transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, however, the recent links between Guler and the German side are ‘wide of the mark’.

The youngster is a key element of Real Madrid’s plans and is not contemplating a departure even on loan. He is completely focused on succeeding at the Spanish capital.

Working around the clock

As revealed earlier this week, the young midfielder has cut short his vacation to return to training early. Guler reported to the club facilities on Saturday and is determined to earn a spot in Ancelotti’s plans.

The upcoming pre-season tour in the US, needless to say, will be vital for the youngster. With names like Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni unavailable, he will have plenty of chances to prove his worth.

Should he make a strong impression and demand a starting spot, it will be interesting to see how Ancelotti uses him.
